Charlie Cox is the actor to take on Daredevil in Marvel's new TV series.
The British actor - best known for his role as Owen Slater in 'Boardwalk Empire' - will play the blind superhero in the Netflix show, reports Variety.
The 31-year-old star has beat stiff competition to land the lead role, which was last played by A-list actor Ben Affleck on the big screen.
'Daredevil' is the first of five Marvel comic book shows which will land on Netflix's streaming service under a deal signed between the two companies last year.
Other series will focus on fellow Marvel characters Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage, before the four heroes unite for a team-up series called 'The Defenders'.
Charlie previously starred opposite Claire Danes in fantasy film 'Stardust'.
'Daredevil' will be executive produced by Steven S. DeKnight, who created the recent 'Spartacus' TV series, after writer Drew Goddard stepped down from the role.
The series marks Marvel's latest live-action TV series to accompany its blockbuster movies - joining 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.', which will return for a second season, and new show 'Agent Carter', which will star British actress Hayley Atwell.
