Charlie Brooks says she has been typecast because of her role as soap bitch Janine Butcher in 'EastEnders.

The 40-year-old actress first arrived in Walford back in 1999 and having played Janine in several stints she is coming back to the BBC One soap once again.
Although she is very proud to have portrayed such an iconic character, Charlie - who was crowned Queen of the Jungle in 2012 when she won 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' - claims her most famous alter ego has led to her missing out on other roles because it can be "hard for people to see you in anything else".
Speaking to RadioTimes.com, she said: "I think I'm A Celebrity (which Charlie won in 2012) probably helped with that because they're like, 'Oh! Charlie and Janine are very different', thank God! Although I'm sure there are some similarities in there somewhere, there has to be doesn't there? It scares me to say that!
"So I think definitely there is typecasting that happens, for sure."
Charlie - who is starring in new Channel 5 drama series 'Lie With Me' - perceives her typecasting as validation that she has done a great job playing Janine which gives her a lot of professional pride.
She added: "I can either choose to go, 'Oh, s***, I can't do anything else, am I only ever going to be seen as that?' Or you can go, 'It means she was brilliant.'
"I don't know if it's got in the way; probably I'd say yes, a little bit, but Janine was brilliant and awesome to play."
