Charley Webb asked 'Emmerdale' bosses for some time off after being left "exhausted" following the filming of her hostage scenes.

The 25-year-old actress - who has a three-year-old son Buster with co-star Matthew Wolfenden - was left exhausted after shooting the intense and emotional scenes in which her alter-ego Debbie Dingle, and several other villagers, were held at gunpoint in the Woolpack pub by serial killer Cameron Murray (Dominic Power).

She told BANG Showbiz: "I feel like I've not stopped so I did actually ask for a bit of time off after the storyline had finished.

"I feel like I've not stopped since because I've got a little boy and we've been to Disneyland and here, there and everywhere so now I feel now I'm getting a bit of time to maybe sleep.

"But I'm kind of getting back into work now so maybe I've missed my window for that. So I'll probably be going back more tired!"

Charley admits she, Dominic and co-star Lucy Pargeter - who plays her onscreen auntie Chas Dingle - were worried about being able to do the hostage scenes justice because it was one of the biggest ever storylines in the soap's history.

She added: "There was a lot of pressure because it was one of the biggest things that 'Emmerdale' has ever done and even the guys who have been in it, mostly me, Lucy and Dom have been really busy for such a long time, so we were all really exhausted.

"We knew we had this to go and we were thinking, 'Oh god, how are we going to get through this?' But we loved it and I felt so privileged to be a part of it."
