The campmates were forced to leave Gwrych Castle, north Wales, and re-enter quarantine last weekend after Storm Arwen caused havoc with the show's technical areas, but upon returning to their home this week they were found to have attempted to bring in all sorts of contraband items, which also included apples and stock cubes.

Show hosts Ant and Dec revealed the haul on last night's (01.12.21) show.

Ant said: "This is genuine what they tried to smuggle in."

Dec then joked: "Where were they quarantining? Superdrug."

But Ant quipped "Don't be silly - it was Boots."

The Vaseline and three beef stock cubes are said to have belonged to 'Coronation Street' actor Simon Gregson, while Paralympian Kadeena Cox attempted to smuggle 25 items back into the castle.

Former 'Emmerdale' actor Danny Miller tried and failed to get some vanilla-flavoured Nescafe coffee sachets into the camp, while Radio DJ Snoochie Shy attempted to bring in Belvita biscuits.

Music producer Naughty Boy - who confessed at the start of the series to smuggling in cooking spices - opted against trying to get food into the castle this time around, but he did attempt to get a nail file in.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Producers knew that the celebs would try and be a bit tricky on their way in so were well prepared for it.

"They checked everyone’s belongings, coats, pockets — even their socks.

"It was comical how much they found. Everything got confiscated and each of them was given a slap on the wrist and sent on their way.

"Kadeena might look like butter wouldn’t melt, but she was by far the worst offender, packing her stuff with sweets, and other stuff.

"Bosses saw the funny side of it and you can’t blame the celebs given they’ve got at least another week in grim conditions to get through.

"Although it does beg the question how they thought they would get away with it, what with hundreds of cameras all around them watching their every move."

However, not everyone was caught trying to bring in contraband.

Six stars, Louise Minchin, Frankie Bridge, David Ginola, Matty Lee, Dame Arlene Phillips and Adam Woodyatt were all said to be clean.
