'I'm A Celebrity... South Africa' will be "bigger, scarier and bolder" than the Australian version.
The ITV reality series is moving to Kruger National Park for an all star edition with the likes of Helen Flanagan, Shaun Ryder, Paul Burrell and Carol Vorderman returning to the show - which will be hosted by Ant and Dec - and bosses secured a space six times the size of its usual camp.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: “Everything is bigger, scarier and bolder.
“If the celebrities think they know what to expect then they are wrong. The only thing that they can count on is the diet of rice and beans!”
To get to camp, the stars must face a dark tunnel of trees lit by a string of lamps, while benches are placed next to beds huddled close around a small fire.
The jungle shower will be back, although it's also undergone a makeover to fit the new camp.
Rather than water falling over a natural cliff, there will be a showerhead hanging in a tree, while the stone wall has been replaced by a backdrop of sharp branches.
There is still a natural waterfall near the camp leading into a nearby river.
As well as Helen, Shaun, Paul and Carol, the launch episode will also feature former boxing champion Amir Khan, ‘Diversity’ dancer and DJ Jordan Banjo, Olympian Fatima Whitbread, ex-England cricketer Phil Tufnell and ex-supermodel Janice Dickinson, with more to come later in the series.
ITV previously said: "“There will be many more celebrities taking part in the series but viewers will have to watch to find out who they are and when they will enter camp.
“All the campmates survived the Australian jungle, but South Africa is an even harder proposition which will push them to their limits and test them like never before.”
The broadcaster added about the show’s format: “The challenges are bigger and tougher and the environment harsher and more unforgiving.
“With no public vote, they will be competing against each other in a battle to become the first ever ‘I’m a Celebrity Legend’.”
‘I’m a Celebrity... South Africa’ starts Monday 24 April at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
