'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here' bosses are hoping to secure their first drag queen for the new series.
The show - hosted by Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly - will return to Wales again this year amid the coronavirus pandemic and the team are now working hard on securing the new line-up.
A number of stars from Ru Paul's Drag Race UK are being considered for their debut in the castle, with the likes of Cheryl Hole and Bimini Bon-Boulash reportedly in the running.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "Casting directors want the most diverse I’m A Celeb line-up possible. They’re keen to sign drag queens. They have big fanbases who would follow them to I’m a Celeb. A few names have been floated already.
"Of course, they won’t be able to put on full make-up and will have to wear a uniform like the other campmates, but the addition will spice up the show. Lots of drag queens would love to do it."
Meanwhile, show bosses are also keen to secure the likes of Louise Minchin for a stint in the castle, after she exited BBC Breakfast.
An insider said previously: "There’s a long tradition of reality TV shows targeting news presenters and 'I’m A Celebrity' is no different. Victoria Derbyshire was on the show before and proved very popular with viewers.
"ITV are hoping they can do the same with Louise and have approached her about coming on board. They are still very much casting stars to head to Gwrych Castle and they’ve got a decent offer to put to Louise.
"If she takes them up on the offer she could be going head-to-head on rival channels with her old BBC co-star Dan Walker, who is on 'Strictly Come Dancing' this year. That friendly rivalry is one of many reasons why ITV are keen to bag her for the line-up. But the timing of her departure couldn’t be better."
