Carol Vorderman is still planning to do her round-the-world solo flight this year.
It was initially thought the former 'Countdown' star had cancelled his globe-trotting trip after her mother Jean, 88, was diagnosed with an incurable cancer recently but it looks like the challenge is very much still on as Joel Dommett - who she met while competing on 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!' last year - has revealed him and the rest of the jungle crew are set to wish her off when she jumps on board her plane.
Speaking to the Metro newspaper, Joel said: "Carol's doing her round-the-world flight and we're going to see her off. We all get on really well and meet up now and again. We've got a WhatsApp group we all chat on. I went to see Danny Baker's show at the Shepherd's Bush Empire recently which was so good.
"I wanted to get some new, exciting friends from the show and I've done that. You get on with the people you want to get on with and you ignore the ones you don't."
Carol announced she was going to jet around the world in her twin-engine propeller plane named Mildred after she obtained her pilot's licence in 2014.
It's believed the 56-year-old presenter's journey through Europe, Asia, Russia, across the Pacific Ocean, the US and back to the UK will be captured on camera and turned into a show called 'Carol's Incredible Solo Flight Around The World'.
Carol announced that her mother had been diagnosed with the disease last month but Jean is adamant that she doesn't want her family to halt their plans for her sake.
Jean said recently: "At my age I don't want to undergo any further operations or chemotherapy treatment which can't cure these new cancers anyway.
"Now my family and me will concentrate on being happy and celebrating the time we have together. I'm refusing to let them be sad."
