The 60-year-old TV star called her former house Sloblock Hall, after a spoof comedy sketch based on 'Countdown' starring Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie featured the letters BOLLOCSK being selected during the conundrum section.
She is quoted by the Daily Mirror newspaper as saying: "Sloblock became our 'Countdown' swear word. I named my house Sloblock Hall.
"I never thought I'd get the name past the council naming committee but I did cos I didn't tell them what it meant. Life's too short. Made me laugh every time I went through the gates."
The presenter - who shot to fame as a maths whizz on the Channel 4 game show alongside her co-host, the late Richard Whiteley, in 1982, before going on to present shows such as 'Loose Women' - bought the sprawling mansion for £1.1 million, but she has now offloaded the plush pad for an reported £2.6 million.
Carol took to Instagram to bid farewell to the five-bedroom property, which features a cinema room, pool house, gym and triple garage.
She wrote: "Today I sold and said goodbye to a house I kinda built 15 years ago....the house of a thousand parties. Goodbye my happy place..... So many wicked parties.....so so many brilliant memories. I'm a lucky woman. And now I'm moving on to yet more new adventures. Wishing the new family who call you home now every happiness and health and laughter. Cheers SLOBLOCK. We had a blast. (sic)"
