The former 'Countdown' host is set to fly across the globe on her own later this month and has admitted a film crew will join her on board as they capture her two-month journey on camera for a new series.

Speaking to Woman magazine, she said: "I'm flying around the world this July and it's going to be made into a TV series. I'll clench my buttocks for two months and try to remember everything I've been taught and not to panic. I'm making light of it but it's a huge challenge. I always wanted to be a pilot so it's about my childhood dreams.

"I couldn't become a fighter pilot at university because I'm a girl. But my daughter was allowed to join the air squadron at university and when I got my licence two years ago, my first trip by myself was to fly to Cambridge to see her at the air squadron. I'm so lucky because I'm having the time of my life."

News the 55-year-old beauty is planning to create a television series of her flight will no doubt come as a shock to fans as she recently admitted she was keen to quit the small screen to focus on her dreams.

She said at the time: "I have been doing this for 30 years. It no longer holds the same thrill. I am at an age where I want to do other things. I am 55 in December. I don't want to end up in a studio for six weeks at a time, bashing out 150 new quiz shows. I did 5,000 of them."
