Call The Midwife looks set to maintain its grip on Sunday nights, as the BBC have recommissioned the show for a third series and another Christmas special.
The show has been a massive success for BBC One since its launch last year, becoming the biggest debut ratings wise for the channel in a decade and I currently the single most viewed TV show every week in the UK.
The new series will come on the air next year and will pick up the story of our favourite midwives in 1959, with change in the air and a new decade knocking on the door.
Call The Midwife isn’t the only drama to get a third series confirmed, as Death In Paradise is also coming back to BBC One for a third time around after great viewing figures over its two years on the air.
