Former 'Emmerdale' star Adam Thomas is the eighth celebrity contestant confirmed for the new series of 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The 'Waterloo Road' actor - who plays Donte Charles in the BBC series - is "buzzing" to get stuck into training for the Latin and ballroom show.
He said: "I am so excited to be joining the cast of this years' 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
"I've been such a big fan of the show for years, I can't believe I'm actually doing it!
"I can't dance to save my life but I'm buzzing to learn and have a good laugh with my pro. Get me on that dance floor ... I can't wait!"
News of Adam joining 'Strictly' was first revealed on 'The Hits Radio Breakfast Show with Fleur East, James and Matt'.
On Monday (07.08.23), Zara McDermott was revealed as the seventh celebrity to join the 'Strictly Come Dancing' line-up, and she will become the first-ever former 'Love Island' star to take part in the programme.
She said: "I am so excited to be joining the world of 'Strictly'!
"I grew up watching it every year with my nan and she was the biggest 'Strictly' fan. We would dance around the house and I have such fond memories of that time in my life."
The 'Love in the Flesh' host went on to add that she even remembers the very first outing of the show in 2004 - which was won by journalist Natasha Kaplinsky along with her professional partner Brendan Cole - and recalled being "mesmerised" by all the dresses she saw on the stage as a child.
She added: "I even remember the first ever series, and being mesmerised by all the beautiful dresses! I can’t wait to throw myself into this experience and start training. It’s going to be incredible."
Zara will join fellow famous faces like 'The One Show' presenter Angela Scanlon, 'Sherlock' actress Amanda Abbington, broadcaster Angela Rippon, West End star Layton Williams, Channel 4 newsreader Krishnan Guru-Murthy, and comedian Eddie Kadi in the line-up for the new series as they all battle it out for the chance to lift the Glitterball Trophy.
