Bradley Walsh plans to retire from TV "in a couple of years".
The 'Chase' presenter has hosted the game show since it began in 2009, but the programme could be searching for a new star to take the helm in the next few years as the 61-year-old actor has set his sights on taking a step back from the limelight.
He said: "You know what, in a couple of years time I won’t have to do any of it, I’ll be retired and that’ll be it."
Bradley admitted that while he appears to be on 'The Chase' "all the time", he only spends 86 days recording episodes of the programme and its various spin-offs.
He said: "It seems like I’m on your screen all the time only because I cram everything in a certain area of the year.
"We make 210 'Chases', 16 'Celebrity Chases', 16 'Beat The Chasers'. It’s only actually 86 days recording.
"So out of 365 days, you’d imagine I have loads of time off. But once you’ve got your bedrock of shows set in, that allows you then to go off and do other things.
"I don’t actually have time off, I have meetings, I have personal appearances I have to make and stuff like that with other things I’ve got going on, so it’s quite tricky to juggle it about."
Bradley is due to play patriarch Pop Larkin in the 'The Larkins' - the new TV adaptation of H.E. Bates' novel 'The Darling Buds of May' - but he has insisted acting is "the most boring job you will ever do".
Speaking on the 'Sliding Doors' podcast, he added: "To any actors listening now, any young actors, it is categorically the most boring job you will ever do.
"You sit around all day. Now I can’t do that."
