The 56-year-old comedian has a treasure trove of sticky labels dating back to 1971 and continues to add more labels to his collection whenever he buys something new.

He said: “It’s a slightly odd one. I don’t know why but I collected sticky labels, just price tags off things. I still do, it’s a proper obsession. You buy a new phone or a computer and you get a sticky label – ‘Ooh, a sticky label!’ I get so excited.”

Bill gets enthusiastic about the price tag for £2.65 as it’s “one of the rarest prices there is” but he keeps another of his favourite labels on a separate page in his collection books.

Speaking on Rhod Gilbert’s 'Growing Pains', he added: “My favourite one is pre-decimal, 4d – four old pence. The idea of the collection is to get all the way through all the numbers.”

It comes after Bill learned another new hobby by dancing to final on 'Strictly Come Dancing' and lifting the Glitterball trophy with his pro partner Oti Mabuse.

He admitted knowing he couldn't see his dad at Christmas, due to coronavirus pandemic restrictions, inspired him in the 'Strictly Come Dancing' final.

He said: "We heard during the day about the new restrictions, and about the fact that my dad, who's been on his own isolating since March - we were looking forward to seeing him at Christmas. "We thought, 'Oh no, we can't do that now, he's gonna be on his own'. There was a lot of that going on as well, and it almost made me want to give even more in the performance, in a way."

Bill also remembered his late mum - who sadly died 15 years ago - on the day of his big win, and revealed she wanted him to take up dancing as a youngster.
