Amy Lou Smith gave birth to a little girl just hours before her 'Britain's Got Talent' audition aired on TV.
The 34-year-old sunbed shop was 30 weeks pregnant when she wowed judges Amanda Holden, Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli with a rendition of Beyonce's 'Listen' and eventually welcomed Aidaat 15:59 on Saturday (15.04.23), little more than three hours before her performance screened.
Amy told The Daily Mirror newspaper: "She is absolutely perfect and healthy in every single form. "I am so overwhelmed with all the love and support I’ve received from being on the show. I cannot put into words how in love we are with our perfect little girl.
"She’s made the family complete. love being a mum and I’m beyond grateful and blessed that I’ve been able to welcome Aida into the world. It all feels like a dream right now and I keep having to pinch myself to make sure it’s not.
"We didn’t know my audition would be airing this weekend until the day before and I was already booked in to have Aida - so we were so shocked! I hadn’t told anybody on the show I was having her this weekend - so it’s crazy!"
Amy - who also performs regularly as a pub singer in her hometown of Tipton in the West Midlands - was sent straight through to the next round after her performance and explained that her hospital room soon became "swarmed" by nurses who had just watched her on television.
She added: "She had people swarming our room! Nurses etc who had just watched the audition in the offices. What a day yesterday was for me. Life has gone crazy as you may imagine and the feedback and comments and positivity from the show is just insane - I’m so happy!"
