'Britain's Got Talent' star Jonathan Goodwin was "airlifted to hospital for surgery" after a near-fatal stunt.
The 41-year-old Welsh escapologist and daredevil was performing for 'America's Got Talent: Extreme' at Atlanta Motor Speedway when he was allegedly left "sandwiched" between two cars which burst into flames as he fell to the ground and crashed his head, TMZ reports.
Jonathan - who recently sparked engagement rumours with 47-year-old 'Sherlock' actress Amanda Abbington - was hanging upside down suspended 70ft in the air in a straitjacket and the two vehicles were swinging back and forth, according to the news outlet.
It's claimed the intention was for him to fall safely onto a soft mattress.
Jonathan is being treated in a trauma unit for "agonal and posturing", which means he has labuored breathing and is making jolting movements from pain and shock, however, his current condition is not known at the time of writing.
A spokesperson for 'AGT' confirmed to Deadline: "He was responsive and was immediately taken to the hospital, where he is continuing to receive medical care. Our thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family as we await further updates on his condition."
Jonathan first appeared on 'Britain's Got Talent' in 2019, before competing on 'America’s Got Talent' in 2020 and returning for the 'Extreme' spin-off
