The 46-year-old game show host - who has presented the ITV programme since 2012 - is inundated with messages from angry viewers who tell him the slot machine is a fix.

He said: “I love getting messages from people who love the show. But unfortunately social media isn’t always like that.

"I get messages from quite a few people moaning about stuff.

“There is a passionate following for 'Tipping Point' and sometimes people take things too seriously.

“It’s been there for a long time, so it is woven into the fabric of people’s day.

"They feel like they know it, so they get frustrated.

“They get frustrated if they think the machine isn’t being fair or they don’t like the questions.”

The TV star admitted people take TV too seriously and forget it's all in the name of "enjoyment".

He said: “Everyone has got to remember that it’s an entertainment show. It’s about enjoyment.

“It’s very easy to sit at home and criticise people on TV.

“But the people who are brave enough to come to the studio and give it a go deserve praise.”

And the 'Good Morning Britain' co-host admitted he loves filming the programme just as much as he did when he first started almost a decade ago.

According to the Daily Star on Sunday's Ed Gleave column, Ben said: “I’ve done plenty of shows that didn’t come back for a second series, but with 'Tipping Point' we are about to start series 13.

“It’s a privilege and something I take great pride in.

“I still get the same amount of joy from it as when we started.”
