Ben Hanlin has admitted he thinks he's "ruined magic" for his family members.
The star says his relatives are no longer interested in seeing illusionists and magicians because they've seen him do tricks so many times, it's no longer special or surprising.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz he explained: "Friends and family are so used to watching me do stuff now that I haven't performed any tricks on them in years.
When I was a kid they would always get the tricks but now I've kind of ruined magic for them because they saw way more than most people."
The star admits he decided to make a career out of his love for magic when he realised he wasn't going to enjoy having a "proper job".
"I found out I had a gift when I was 14 or 15. I spent time watching David Blaine and learning a few tricks. I'd sit and practice them at school and do a little bit of a trick there and learn it and then when I decided I didn't want to get a proper job I kept doing this really."
Ben recently created some messy magic at a school in Staines, in association with Persil's Dirt Is Good campaign. The film can be found at http://tinyurl.com/PersilStainMagic
