Belinda Owusu is 40 weeks pregnant.
The ‘Holby City’ and former ‘EastEnders’ star took to Instagram to surprise her followers with the news she is expecting a baby, and has said the tot is due to arrive any day now as she’s already 40 weeks into her pregnancy.
Posting a picture of her bump on Instagram, Belinda wrote: “Ready when you are, kid #40weeks (sic)”
Belinda’s co-stars were quick to offer their congratulations, with Chizzy Akulolu offering her services as her ‘Holby City’ character Mo Effanga.
She said: "Can’t wait. Let me know if you need Dr Mo by your side. (sic)”
Whilst Dawn Steele wrote: “Hurry uuuuuupppp- you look amazing B x (sic)”, and Amy Lennox added: “Hurry up Baby B - auntie Amy has been waiting ages now (sic)”
Belinda’s pregnancy comes as her ‘Holby City’ character, Nicky McKendrick, is also pregnant, after she discovered her heart medication could have interfered with her positive pregnancy result.
Taking matters into her own hands, she performed an ultrasound on herself and was able to confirm she was indeed pregnant, and was quite far along too.
Nicky immediately delivered the surprise news to her boyfriend Cameron, who's currently tangled up his own web of lies.
As of the time of writing, 31-year-old Belinda has not announced a break from ‘Holby City’ for maternity leave, but as the show is filmed three months in advance, it’s expected she will temporarily step away in the near future.
Prior to her role in the BBC medical drama, Belinda was known for playing Libby Fox in ‘EastEnders’ between 2006 and 2010.
Her character made a guest appearance in 2014 for the beginning of the ‘Who Killed Lucy Beale?’ storyline, and then made various cameos up until January 2017.
