With Halloween right around the corner, horror junkies are getting ready to watch their favourite classic scary movies and TV shows. Netflix meanwhile, are gearing up to add another must-see to their pile, with the release of original series The Haunting of Hill House. Launching globally today (October 12), the series is a modern adaptation of Shirley Jackson's novel of the same name, and to celebrate its release, Netflix have dropped a behind-the-scenes teaser showcasing some of the action and chaos we should expect from the Crain family throughout the show's 10 episodes. Check it out below:
The show explores the stories of a group of siblings who all grew up in Hill House, each with their own thoughts when it comes to the supernatural. Now as adults, they come to realise they spent their childhood in a place that would become the most famous haunted house in the country.
Pushed back together in the face of tragedy, the Crain family must work together to confront the ghosts of their past and discover the truth to the strange goings on they experienced both then and now.
The all-star cast includes Michiel Huisman, Carla Gugino, Timothy Hutton, Elizabeth Reaser, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Henry Thomas, Kate Siegel and Victoria Pedretti, as well as Lulu Wilson, Mckenna Grace, Paxton Singleton, Violet McGraw and Julian Hilliard.
Horror icon Mike Flanagan (Hush, Gerald's Game) serves as creator, director and executive producer on the series, with Trevor Macy also executive producing. Meredith Averill acts as co-showrunner and executive producer, with Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank also as executive producers.
The Haunting of Hill House is produced for Netflix by Amblin TV and Paramount Television, and all 10 episodes of the show's debut season are available now on the streaming service.
