BBC Children In Need launches gaming competition

The new programme - which has the working title 'Game To Give' - will be aired live on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer on November 10 with celebrities, influencers, content creators and members of the public challenging each other in an epic video game fundraiser.

People will get the chance to compete in the live show by playing three iconic games - the BBC Children in Need Sim Rig Tour, BBC Children in Need’s Just Dance for Pudsey and the Hado Tournament for BBC Children in Need.

The events were launched on Wednesday (27.09.23) with former 'Strictly' star Aljaz Skorjanec leading a mass dance-a-long on BBC One's Morning Live.

The team will now embark on a UK tour giving as many people as possible the chance to get involved, with participants asked to make a donation to 'BBC Children In Need' when taking part.

Many of the charities funded by Children In need use video games to support children and young people through various challenges in life.

Benefits include the power to unite people through play, as well as boosting creativity and giving people escapism when they needed.

Gaming also encouraging skills in areas like problem solving, fine motor skills, and co-ordination.

Tommy Nagra, Director of Content at BBC Children in Need says: “We’re thrilled to be launching this brand new venture to unite gamers up and down the country to help raise money for BBC Children in Need.

"We will be celebrating the potential of gaming to highlight how we can unite new audiences through play and show the positive impact that gaming can have.

"We hope that lots of gaming fans will get involved in our trio of games!”

That's not all, as Children In Need is also running The Pudsey Games via a five-hour TikTok live stream at Confetti X in Nottingham.

The biggest content creators across the UK will go head to head to claim the Goolden Budsey.

The charity has also confirmed a partnership with TikTok, who will support the campaign through TikTok LIVE gifting to make it easier for the social community to send and receive virtual gifts.

Further details on Game to Give, including the celebrity line-up and presenters, will be shared in the coming weeks.
