The BBC has acquired two Swedish crime dramas for broadcast.
'End of Summer' is based on former police officer Anders de la Motte’s bestselling Swedish novel of the same name and will air a six-part psychological thriller starring Julia Ragnarsson that follows a woman who is trying unravel the truth behind her brother's disappearance.
Meanwhile, 'Jana – Marked for Life' - which is based on the best-selling novel of the same title by Emelie Schepp - follows a public prosecutor and former child soldier and features an ensemble cast of Madeleine Martin Pernilla August August Wittgenstein Zlatko Buric , Thure Lindhardt Sigrid Johnson , Johan Ulveson Fredrik Hallgren and Moa Gammel.
The six-part series has been created for television and directed by Felix Herngren ('The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared') and Henrik Björn ('Jordskott').
The series has been written by Maria Karlsson ('Easy Money Trilogy') and Daniel Sawka (Icebox) and has been produced by FLX in collaboration with Wild Sheep and Reaz, produced by Sussan Treschow, and executive produced by Elin Kvist at FLX, Erik Barmack at Wild Sheep, and Martin Rea at Reaz.

'End of Summer' is set in rural southern Sweden whilst 'Jana - Marked For Life' was shot in Norrköping and Stockholm in early 2023, with both series having already premiered on streaming services in Europe.
Both series will air on BBC iPlayer and TV channels having been acquired from Viaplay Content Distribution.
