Basil Brush has paid tribute to Roy Hudd.
The famous fox puppet paid his respects to the late actor and comedian, who passed away on Sunday (15.03.20) aged 83 after a short illness, by sharing a poster of 'The Basil Brush Summer Spectacular', which Roy guest starred in.
He wrote on Twitter: "Oh so sad, another of my oldest friends has passed away...Mr Roy. We had great days together on many an occasion especially back in the '70s with our summer spectacular. Rest in peace Mr Roy....the great stage in the sky awaits its master performer. #RoyHuddRIP (sic)"
The 'Coronation Street' star passed away peacefully with his wife Debbie by his side.
A statement from his agent said: "We are sad to announce the passing of the much-loved and amazingly talented Roy Hudd OBE.
"After a short illness, Roy passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Sunday March 15, with his wife Debbie at his side.
"The family would ask you to respect their privacy at this very sad time."
Other famous faces have led tributes to the funnyman following his death, including Michael Barrymore and Sandi Toksvig.
Michael Barrymore shared a photo of the comedian on Twitter, and thanked Roy for guiding him during his very first show in 1976.
He wrote: "Note to Roy Hudd: Dear Roy, Thank you so much for being such a wonderful human being on my very first Big Summer season show; Festival Theatre Paignton 1976, as the new kid on the block. I didn't have a clue and you helped and guided me. (sic)"
Former 'The Great British Bake Off' co-host Sandi also tweeted a loving tribute, describing Roy a "genius".
She wrote: "Roy Hudd was a comic genius but more than that he was one of the nicest people in show business. At least the heavens will be rocking with laughter. (sic)"
