The array of beloved figures will come together in song to help Pudsey Bear during the Beeb's charity telethon - which begins on November 19 at 7pm - to debut their highly anticipated music video.

In a statement, Basil Brush called the collaboration “fantastic” as he gets back together with so many old pals.

The not-so-sly fox said: “It was fantastic to be reunited with so many old friends. And incredibly none of us have aged a day, we all look exactly the same! Boom Boom!”

Mr Blobby used his signature catchphrase, and simply added: “Blobby, Blobby, Blobby.”

Hacker T Dog said he usually would not leave his hometown of Wigan but made a special effort for the big yellow bear.

He explained: “I wouldn’t leave Wigan for just anyone. But when Pudsey called, I thought, I’ve got nothing better to do that day.”

The trio will be joined by numerous iconic characters, including Muffin the Mule, Zippy from Rainbow, Thunderbird’s Scott and Vigil, Gordon the Gopher, Otis the Aardvark, Oucho, Stanley, Dodge, the Neighbour’s Cat from ‘Dick and Dom in Da Bungalow’, Zelda from ‘Terrahawks’ and Larry the Lizard from ‘Buffering’ as they unite for one of the biggest singalongs that the annual BBC charity broadcast has ever seen.

To mark the occasion, there will even be cross network involvement as Channel 5’s Milkshake Monkey will be popping up for a cameo.

Viewers can spot their favourites when they tune in on the big night as they take to the recording studio with oversized microphones and headphones. Show bosses have promised a real show - suitable for all ages - and promised the performance will not be a tear-jerker.
