Bafta have announced the list of nominees for their annual TV awards, honouring the best and brightest in British TV at the gala event.
This year, the BBC has dominated the nominations, with Parade’s End picking up two nominations and both Accused and The Girl earning four nods each. The network didn’t stop there in the drama field though, as eight of the twelve drama nominees all aired on the BBC’s array of channels.
Despite the criticism the Alfred Hitchcock biographical drama attracted around its Boxing Day release, both stars Toby Jones and Sienna Miller both are nominated for their performances in The Girl. Last Tango In Halifax also has the honour of having both its stars nominated, with Derek Jacobi and Anne Reid both scooping up nominations.
It’s a good year of Olympic based comedy Twenty Twelve too, with the show picking up nominations for the performances of Olivia Colman, Jessica Hynes and Hugh Bonneville, as well as picking up a nod for best sitcom.
We’ve got the full list of nominees here for you though to peruse over, so have a look and see if your favourite show’s in with a shout of taking home a prestigious mask when the ceremony takes place on May 12th.
