NOTE: Spoilers
Despite Oliver Queen's (Stephen Amell) untimely death at the hands of Ra's al Ghul (Matt Nable) in the Arrow midseason finale late last year, Starling City can rest assured that somebody else is going to be stepping up in the hopes of keeping the peace.
Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) has taken on the legacy left behind by her sister Sara Lance, and that's something Cassidy has been excited about doing for some time.
"I've been waiting for this to happen, she goes from avenging her sister to honouring her sister to becoming her sister." she said during The Heroes and Villains of Arrow and The Flash panel at the Television Critics Association's winter TV previews.
Amell was also on-hand to assure fans that his death on the show doesn't mean they should panic.
"I can give fans hope that they like the show because of the actors in it but also because of the people that are creating it. They would do well to be patient and have faith in that team."
He went on to explain how he had learned of Queen's fall before the start of season three.
"I personally love when there's adversity for the protagonist and we give other characters on the show the opportunity to... come more into leading roles," he said.
"If we don't give other characters the opportunity to shoulder the load, then we give viewers nothing to attach them to. I'm excited for everyone's opportunity."
Brandon Routh could also take centre-stage, as Ray Palmer returns and joins the fray, but on "a slightly different track than the other members of Team Arrow," according to executive producer Marc Guggenheim.
"One of the things that has always been part of the design of season 3 is that there would be more and more costumed characters populating Starling City. Oliver started off as just one man and he never envisioned all these other people being part of that plan. He thought he would be a solo act. Part of what he experienced this year was seeing the crusade grow beyond him."
Before the panel took place, it was revealed to Entertainment Weekly by David Ramsey himself that Diggle is going to be suiting up in the Arrow costume once more.
"Blarrow returns! Don't call it a comeback." he joked.
