Dame Arlene Phillips insists she wasn't upset after missing out to Oti Mabuse for a 'Dancing On Ice' role.
The musical theatre choreographer - who previously appeared as a judge on BBC ballroom favourite ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ - has weighed in after the pro dancer was chosen for the panel of the ITV figure skating show.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, the 78-year-old star said: "That's a rumour. I love Oti [Mabuse], I can't wait to see her. I'm actually working with Oti, she's choreographing the Cher show which I'm directing, she's great and she's wonderful.”
The TV personality - who has also served as a judge on talent shows like ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ - suggested she was happy to call time on that phase of her career.
She added: "I don't think I will [work as a judge again]. I love judging on TV. I've had an amazing time judging on all the shows I've done. I'm open to new people coming up."
Last month, it was confirmed Oti, 31, would join Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean on the 'Dancing On Ice' panel after the news John Barrowman would not be returning.
She said at the time: "As a professional dancer I have always had so much respect for the skating professionals on 'Dancing On Ice'.
"It is an exceptional skill that is also so beautiful to watch. I'm feeling really enthusiastic about joining the panel alongside the legendary Torvill and Dean and Ashley Banjo.
"I can't wait to see the celebrities thrive as they learn how to ice-skate and to champion the professional skaters as they create incredible choreography.
"Having been on both sides of the table, I know a little bit about how they'll be feeling. It's more than an honour and I already can't wait to join the family."
