The 32-year-old entrepreneur has purchased the shares back from the 76-year-old television personality -who put a £250,000 investment into her cupcake venture Oh So Yum! as part of her prize - more than a year since her victory on the BBC One reality competition after Marnie Swindells, 28, snagged a win on the most recent series.

An insider told the Sun newspaper: “Lord Sugar is all about trying to give young entrepreneurs a helping hand, but there’s never any guarantee he’ll work with them forever.

“While Harpreet got his backing after winning the programme in March last year, but since then he’s partnered up with the winner of this year’s show.”

This comes after the news was first broken online by the relevant parties.

Alan wrote on social media: “Harpreet Kaur, The Apprentice winner 2022, has bought back Lord Sugar’s shares in her desserts business, Oh So Yum!

“This move marks a significant achievement in the journey of the Yorkshire-based entrepreneur, who won Season 16 of the show and secured a £250,000 investment from Lord Sugar.

“With the purchase of Lord Sugar’s shares, Harpreet and her sister, Gurvinder Kaur, are now in full control of the business and its future direction.

“The separation has been amicable, and Lord Sugar and Harpreet Kaur mutually agreed it was the best decision for the business moving forward.”

Harpreet added: “I am extremely grateful for the knowledge and support that Lord Sugar and his team of advisers have given me.”

The brunette beauty's personal success has matched up with her professional goals as she recently announced her engagement to Akshay Thakrar, who she met while vying for the ex-computer salesman's time and attention.

In May, the 29-year-old reality star wrote on his Instagram on a snap of him on knee holding Harpreet's hand: I would find you in any lifetime [red heart emoji] Our journey began in the most unexpected way. Now it’s time to begin our forever chapter. She said yes."
