The new series of 'The Apprentice' starts with the candidates being whisked off to the Caribbean.
Lord Alan Sugar is returning for the 2023 edition of the BBC reality TV show and he's revealed they wanted to launch the series with a bang by taking the contestants to Antigua after COVID-19 restrictions hampered previous seasons.
This year's line-up includes two hairdressers, two sweetshop owners, a martial arts instructor, and the owner of a pest control company who will all be competing for a £250,000 investment from the business mogul.
Among the contestants this year is Rochelle Anthony, who owns her own salon in Bedfordshire and has compared herself to another very famous reality TV star, saying: "I’m always being compared to the Kim Kardashian of the business world because I’m doing business with a hint of glam."
This year's show features Karren Brady alongside Lord Sugar with Claude Littner making a return to the panel.
Karren appeared on 'The One Show' earlier this week and revealed it wasn't easy for Claude when he made his comeback because he was perturbed by the candidates' constant bickering.
She insisted he even had to go lie down in a dark room after one particularly dramatic day. Karren explained: "I know Claude said that the bickering got so bad, I saw him at the end of the very first day and he literally had to lay down in a dark room.
"He said it was really really bad, they were really at each other."
The 17th series of 'The Apprentice' kicks off on Thursday, January 5 on BBC One
