Navid Sole gets fired on the Apprentice
The 27-year-old pharmacist found himself facing the wrath of Lord Alan Sugar after he and Akeem Bundu-Kamara failed to impress project manager Sophie Wilding with their performance in this week's task, which saw the teams tasked with creating a non-alcoholic drink and pitching their product to potential buyers.
Navid didn't think he deserved to be fired because he made more sales than the rest of his team, whose peach-flavoured spicy non-alcoholic beer ultimately flopped with just 2,500 sales, far fewer than the 10,675 units of their rivals' vodka, lime and soda-inspired premium beverage.
He told BANG Showbiz and other media outlets: “Sophie threw me under a bus, she should have been fired, I made the most amount of sales compared to Steph, Amy and Sophie combined together.
“Everything in business is in sales, if you make the most sales that should speak more for itself and I made the most sales.
“It’s not like I wasn’t contributing, Sophie removed me from the pitch and then in the boardroom she used that as a target to say ‘Oh, Navid you didn’t contribute much’, and I know she was going to do that I had a feeling.
“At the end of the day I did stay true to myself, I did fight for it and I don’t take s**t from anyone, period.”
During the task, Lord Sugar's advisor, Tim Campbell, admitted he was concerned Navid left himself open to criticism by not speaking up for himself and his opinions enough.
However, the ousted candidate insisted it wouldn't be in his nature to speak in any other way.
He said: “I’m representing a professional health care. I’m someone that does something in a relaxed manner.
"Myself is being polite, but I am crazy polite.
“I’m not the type to shout and bark at each other. That’s what ‘The Apprentice’ is known for, to basically shout. But I just feel like you can be true to yourself , be polite and basically share that point of view in a very friendly manner without jumping at each other.”
It was a double exit in tonight’s episode as at the beginning of the episode, Shama Amin quit the show on medical grounds after finding it too physically demanding, as she suffers from rheumatoid arthritis.
