The former Special Forces soldier has been dropped from 'SAS: Who Dares Wins' by Channel 4 due to his "personal conduct", but Australia's Channel Seven has confirmed he will be back as chief instructor for the programme Down Under.

A spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia: "Ant Middleton and his fellow DS (Directing Staff), Mark 'Billy' Billingham, Jason Fox and Ollie Ollerton, will all be returning for the second season of 'SAS Australia' which is currently in pre-production."

Ant has hosted 'SAS: Who Dares Wins' since 2015, but he has been axed from the show - which sees ex-Special Forces soldiers put people through their paces as they recreate the SAS's secret selection process - because Channel 4's "views and values are not aligned" with the TV presenter.

A Channel 4 spokesperson said in a statement: "Ant Middleton will not be taking part in future series of 'SAS: Who Dares Wins'.

"Following a number of discussions Channel 4 and Minnow Films have had with him in relation to his personal conduct it has become clear that our views and values are not aligned and we will not be working with him again."

But Ant felt he "achieved everything" he could on 'SAS: Who Dares Wins'.

He wrote: "After five years on the show it just felt like I had achieved everything I could with the format.

"There’s so many other formats that I am working on now that feel more suited to who I am today. It’s been a brilliant experience being on that show but I'm honestly happy to let some new blood come in and put their own stamp on it."

Ant also tweeted: "After 5 incredible years I’ve decided it’s time to move on from SAS Who Dares Wins UK. Big respect to my fellow DS – it’s been a journey I’ll never forget. Thanks to everyone that took part and made the show what it is. Really excited about the future and what’s coming this year. (sic)"
