The former Special Forces soldier - who has fronted the show since its inception in 2015 - was dropped by the broadcaster, who said their "views and values are not aligned" with the television star.

However, Ant has fired back, insisting there are "so many other formats" that he is working on that he "feels is more suited to who he is today".

Speaking after his exit was confirmed, he wrote: "After five years on the show it just felt like I had achieved everything I could with the format. There’s so many other formats that I am working on now that feel more suited to who I am today. It’s been a brilliant experience being on that show but I'm honestly happy to let some new blood come in and put their own stamp on it."

Channel 4 confirmed Ant's departure in a statement.

A spokesperson said: "Ant Middleton will not be taking part in future series of SAS: Who Dares Wins. Following a number of discussions Channel 4 and Minnow Films have had with him in relation to his personal conduct it has become clear that our views and values are not aligned and we will not be working with him again."

Ant had previously insisted he'll "never forget" his time on the show.

He wrote: "After 5 incredible years I’ve decided it’s time to move on from SAS Who Dares Wins UK. Big respect to my fellow DS – it’s been a journey I’ll never forget. Thanks to everyone that took part and made the show what it is. Really excited about the future and what’s coming this year. Stay positive."
