Anne Robinson is "delighted" 'The Weakest Link' is returning to TV.
The 76-year-old TV presenter fronted the BBC game show for all 13 series from 2000 to 2011, and the new 'Countdown' host thinks it is "great" the programme is making a comeback for a 12-episode series with new presenter Romesh Ranganathan.
She said: "I only learnt about it at the weekend, which is great.
"I'm delighted."
But Anne - was known for her abrupt contestant put-downs on the show - admitted the programme will be "very different" when it returns.
She said: "It will be a very different 'Weakest Link', because I honestly couldn't get away with saying now what I used to say."
Anne made her 'Countdown' presenting debut last week, and while she was "very nervous" to take on the role, she has found similarities with 'The Weakest Link'.
She said: "I've filmed some of the shows and I think I'm quite nervous on today's and tomorrow's.
"I think I get into the groove on about Wednesday.
"I was very nervous, you always are if you're doing a new show.
"What was thrilling was quite a few of the contestants were great, great, fun and at times it was just like doing 'The Weakest Link'."
Despite her show nerves, Anne didn't hesitate in accepting Channel 4 bosses' offer to take over from Nick Hewer on the programme.
Speaking on 'Lorraine', she added: "They asked me and I didn't even take 30 seconds to say, 'Yeah, that's great, that's exactly what I want to do.'
"First of all, I'm sitting down. All those years I had to stand up.
"It's cerebral, it's very authentic. It hasn't changed over the years to make it up-to-date."
