Angelica Bell thinks Rhys Stephenson's experience on kids' TV will help him on 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The former CBBC star - who worked on the likes of 'Short Change' and 'That's Genius!' between 2000 and 2006 - has backed the 'Blue Peter' host to shine on the BBC Latin and ballroom competition when it launches this month.
She told the Daily Star newspaper: "Rhys will be amazing. He's a great booking in terms of letting another audience tap into that show.
"So many CBBC presenters have done well - it's a great place to learn your craft and diversify.
"When you present to children you have to let yourself go. Children see the whites of your eyes - they know if you're being honest."
The 45-year-old star - who won 'Celebrity MasterChef in 2017 - admitted she loves getting to see other presenters from CBBC succeed in different areas.
She added: "It's lovely for me seeing talent from that pool expressing themselves in different ways."
And she suggested the secret to their success is the variety of projects they work on.
She explained: "What's good about children's television is I was able to work across different genres."
Meanwhile, Rhys - who has also worked on 'Saturday Mash-Up!' - was the fifth celebrity announced for the upcoming 19th series, which will see him compete against the likes of Tom Fletcher, Robert Webb and AJ Odudu.
He said at the time: "I am BUZZING to be a part of 'Strictly Come Dancing' 2021.
"I have dreamt about being on this show, and I know for a fact that it is going to exceed every expectation.
"I cannot wait to experience it all: the costumes, the orchestra, even Craig’s glare! I am READY!”
