The upcoming daytime show will offer "advice and companionship" to people across the UK during the coronavirus pandemic as Director-General Tony Hall aims to keep the nation informed, educated and entertained.

The new programme will air weekdays at 10am from Monday (30.03.20) for the next two weeks, as the team address the concerns of viewers and give them tips on staying healthy and happy during the ongoing crisis.

Angela said: "Like millions of Britons across the country, and as an over 70, I will be self-isolating and 'working from home'.

"'HealthCheck UK Live' will offer a fantastic outlet to connect viewers and to remind us we can all fight this together."

Fitness instructor Mr Motivator added: "Now more than ever it is important to keep our bodies and minds healthy. Everybody say yeah, let's get happy and be wicked at home!"

The pair will be joined by Dr. Xand van Tulleken and TV presenter Michelle Ackerley, as the Beeb looks to do what it can to help those staying at home over this tough period.

Carla-Maria Lawson - head of BBC Daytime and Early Peak - said: "Millions of viewers are tuning in to BBC news and topical shows such as 'The One Show', to bring them the very latest advice on Covid-19 and for a trusted and reassuring presence during this most challenging of times.

"'HealthCheck UK Live' will enhance this offering to viewers, providing a guide to staying happy and healthy at home with a fantastic presenting line-up."

Michelle is looking forward to appearing alongside such esteemed co-stars for the hour-long episodes.

She said: "'HealthCheck UK Live' will offer support to audiences at home during these challenging times and I am delighted to be presenting the programme alongside broadcasting icon Angela Rippon, health expert Dr Xand, and of course Mr Motivator!"
