Andy Whyment has acquired a new dog.
The 'Coronation Street' actor, whose character Kirk Sutherland used to own the Weatherfield Kennels, and his family have welcomed pet pooch Rolo into their lives.
Andy shared a picture of himself embracing the adorable animal, and added the caption: "Welcome to the family ROLO (sic)"
The former 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' star's wife Nichola Whyment took to her Instagram Stories to share a snap of Rolo, and admitted she had been sitting on the floor so long next to the cute canine that she couldn't feel her bum any more.
She wrote: "My bum has gone numb but I daren't move (sic)"
Several of Andy's 'Corrie' co-stars gushed over his new family addition.
Jane Danson (Leanne Battersby) wrote: "Adorable"
Catherine Tyldesley - who portrayed Eva Price on the cobbles - posted: "Andyyyyyy!!!! Omg!!!! (sic)"
He replied: "he’s absolutely adorable Cath (sic)"
Andy's fellow 'I'm A Celebrity' campmate Myles Stephenson also took a liking to the puppy.
He wrote: "Rolo better come down and meet uncle ASAP (sic)"
Andy replied: "will do bro he’s absolutely ace we love him (sic)"
Dog lover Kirk appeared on the cobbles in 2000 as the brother of Maria Sutherland (Samia Longchambon).
The pair owned the Weatherfield Kennels, where he worked as a kennel master, but he later lost the dog shelter over the accidental neutering of a pedigree specimen.
He suffered further disappointment shortly afterwards when he was dumped by then-girlfriend Fiz Brown (Jennie McAlpine).
She went on to marry John Stape (Graeme Hawley), but he turned out to be a serial killer.
