Based on the international bestselling novel of the same name by Sarah Vaughan, Anatomy of a Scandal is set to make its debut on Netflix on April 15th, 2022.

Set in London, the TV series stars Sienna Miller (American Sniper) as Sophie, with Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey) as Kate, Rupert Friend (Homeland) as James and, Naomi Scott (Charlie's Angels) as Olivia.

Parliament Minister James Whitehouse lives in a blissful and rarified world, alongside his wife Sophie. Though his upward trajectory appears to be limitless, a scandalous secret threatens to come to light, bringing down everything the pair have worked hard to achieve.

Then there's barrister Kate Woodcroft who's on her own trajectory, but with a prosecution that threatens to rip Westminster apart, as well as the Whitehouse marriage and, her own personal esteem, there's a heck of a lot on the line.

This gripping courtroom drama also stars Geoffrey Streatfeild as Tom Southern, Joshua McGuire as Chris Clarke, Liz White as Ali Conlon, Nancy Farino as Holly, Amelie Bea-Smith as Emily Whitehouse, Sebastian Selwood as Finn Whitehouse and Hannah Dodd, Ben Radcliffe and Jake Simmance as young Sophie, young James and young Tom, respectively.

Big Little Lies creator David E. Kelley serves as writer and executive producer on the series, alongside Melissa James Gibson (House of Cards, The Americans).

S.J. Clarkson (Jessica Jones) directs all six episodes, with executive producers for the series Liza Chasin (The Lost City) of 3Dot Productions, Bruna Papandrea (Gone Girl) and Allie Goss of Made Up Stories, along with Sarah Vaughan and Margaret Chernin as co-executive producer.

Though I'm not familiar with the original novel on which this series is based, the trailer has done an incredible job of luring me in. I'm a sucker for both personal and political scandals playing out on screen, and whilst our real world is packed full of both of those things in abundance, hopefully those taking place in Anatomy of a Scandal will provide just the right amount of reality and fantasism to entertain, rather than depress.

Sienna Miller is of course one of the finest talents of our generation, so seeing her in this small screen release, alongside other greats like Michelle Dockery, Rupert Friend and Naomi Scott, will be a real delight.
