The 'Emmerdale' actress and the 'EastEnders' star revealed in September that they were expecting a baby together and they have now confirmed the tot's arrival

They told OK! magazine: "Well…it’s been a busy week! Hope you all had a good one. HAPPY NEW YEAR from the three of us."

The couple previously revealed they were surprised to get pregnant so quickly.

Toby-Alexander, 31 - who plays serial killer Gray Atkins in the BBC One soap - said: "There’s never a perfect time.

"You could always think, 'We could do with a bigger house or investing more time in our careers,' but if you’ve met the right person then that’s it."

Amy, 34 - whose 'Emmerdale' character Tracy Metcalfe suffered postnatal depression - explained she thought she might struggle to conceive after she was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovaries when she was 20 years old.

She said: "I always thought falling pregnant was going to be a battle.

"Toby knew how worried I was, especially as I’m a bit older.

"I did wonder if it would ever happen for me, so it feels like a blessing.

"It’s always something I hoped and prayed would happen at some point.

"I’ve enjoyed being an auntie, but after meeting Toby I felt like I really wanted a child myself."

The couple met in the audience at 'Strictly Come Dancing' in 2019.
