Amy Hart hopes her appearance on 'Question Time' will show people that not all 'Love Island' stars are "airheads".
The 29-year-old star - who shot to fame on the ITV2 dating show's fifth series in 2019 - is to feature on the panel of the BBC topical debate programme tonight (30.09.21), and she is looking forward to proving people wrong.
She said: "If someone had told me after 'Love Island' that in two years’ time I was going to be on the 'Question Time' panel, I would have thought they were joking.
"That wouldn’t have crossed my mind.
"But I’ve always liked proving people wrong and just because I was on a reality TV show doesn’t mean I don’t read the news or can’t have opinions.
"I just wish people would realise that we’re not all airheads."
Amy - who has been a member of the Labour Party since she was 17 - admitted appearing on 'Question Time' is a "really scary" prospect, but she is just going to be "honest".
She added to The Sun newspaper: "I’m not a politician, but I’m going to go there, give it a go and really embrace the opportunity.
"And if I don’t know enough about something, I will hold my hands up and say so.
"As long as I’m honest then I think I’ll be fine."
In July, Amy revealed she had been invited to talk in the House of Commons.
Alongside a "mind blown" emoji, she tweeted: "Erm….just been invited to the House of Commons to give evidence to a committee of MP’s about influencer culture. (sic)"
