Amy Childs forces all her visitors to wear her placenta cream.
The 26-year-old reality star, who became a mother for the first time when she gave birth to her daughter Polly last month with boyfriend Bradley Wright, has revealed that not only has she eaten her own placenta but she's turned some of it into cream.
Speaking to hosts Holly Willoughby and Rylan Clark-Neal on ITV's 'This Morning' on Thursday (25.05.17), Amy said: "It's so funny, everyone who comes in the house has got to have a bit of me and Polly's placenta, our face, we've got the balm on, everyone has the balm on when they walk in."
And whilst Holly, 36, admitted she would feel uncomfortable rubbing someone else's placenta cream on to her skin, Amy offered it to Rylan, 28, to try.
She said: "There's some there if you want some, Rylan?"
He replied: "I'm going to look at it from afar now".
Amy said: "Okay, we'll try it after."
And in addition to her softer skin, Amy has seen positive health benefits from ingesting her placenta in a tablet form after reading about others doing it; including The Saturdays singer Rochelle Humes - who also has daughter Alaia-Mai, aged four with husband Marvin - who had her own placenta turned into tablets and her two-month-old baby daughter Valentina's umbilical cord framed too.
Amy explained: "I read about (what to do with) it and I thought it was such a good write up about it and I thought I'm definitely going to give it a try. I tried it - it was the capsules - I literally took it three times a day and Polly is four weeks old on Sunday and I feel amazing. Yeah I'm a little bit tired but I had mums saying to me 'you're going to be so tired, day three you're going to have baby blues' but I honestly didn't have anything and I honestly put it down to that definitely."
Speaking about the birth, which was an "awful 27-hours" for the former 'The Only Way Is Essex' star, Amy revealed she had her hair blow-dried during her contractions.
She said: "I did (have a blowdry) because I got sent home at four o'clock in the morning my waters broke and at seven o'clock - on a Saturday I have my hair blow dried anyway - so I thought I might as well just have it done, I was in and out of contractions anyway and when I literally have her I want to be glam, so yeah. It was eight o'clock I had a blow dry and that was it."
And she revealed her labour is a pain she will "never forget...ever".
But added: "At the end of the day look what you get out of it."
