With just under a week to go until the premiere episode of American Horror Story: Hotel in the US, the opening title sequence for the brand new season has been revealed, and it's extremely different to any of the four that have come before it.
Religious undertones run throughout the credits, with the ten commandments given in full but in an order that may or may not have any bearing on the story going forward - you never know with creator Ryan Murphy! The order in which they're given is as follows:
- No 5 - 'Honour Thy Father And Thy Mother'
- No 3 - 'Thou Shalt Not Take The Lord's Name In Vain'
- No 6 - 'Thou Shalt Not Kill'
- No 4 - 'Remember The Sabbath Day To Keep It Holy'
- No 9 - 'Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness'
- No 10 - 'Thou Shalt Not Covet'
- No 8 - 'Thou Shalt Not Steal'
- No 7 - 'Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery'
- No 1 - 'Thou Shalt Have No Other Gods Before Me'
- No 2 - 'Thou Shalt Not Make Unto Thee Any Graven Image'
Starring Lady Gaga, Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Matt Bomer, Evan Peters, Wes Bentley, Chloe Sevigny, Finn Wittrock, Lily Rabe, Kathy Bates, Cheyenne Jackson and Denis O'Hare amongst others, the season's set to go back to its firm roots in horror, in what could be the scariest season to-date.
American Horror Story: Hotel comes to FX in the US on October 7, following in the UK on FOX on October 20.
