The fourth season of American Horror Story has been confirmed to have a carnival theme.
It was writer Douglas Petrie who let slip during a podcast for Nerdist, saying: "It doesn't have a title, but that's the idea. Very roughly, that's the idea." after being asked if it was set at a carnival.
However, creator Ryan Murphy has remained secretive about the show and has only ever confirmed that the new show will see actors take on different accents and will take place in the year 1950s.
Eagle eyed fans have now believed to have found the clue in the last season's finale that would give the carnival theme away.
An image floating around social media sites shows a flipped version of one of the scenes in the latest season 'Coven' - an aerial shot that seems to see characters placed in positions to form a clown's face on the ground.
Only two stars are confirmed to return for the fourth season at this point - Jessica Lange and Sarah Paulson - but it's widely believed Kathy Bates will make a return after the huge success of her addition to season three.
Lange has previously confirmed that she expects this will be her last season out of choice, as she wants to "have more time to myself".
Season four of American Horror Story premieres in October of this year.
