In American Gods, viewers will meet ex-prisoner Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle), who arrives home to find his wife Laura (Emily Browning) has died, but certainly hasn’t disappeared forever. When he meets the mysterious Mr Wednesday (Ian McShane), he’s drawn into a world he never knew existed, where the Old Gods are gearing up for battle against the New Gods.
With the Old Gods, such as Easter (Kristin Chenoweth) and Czernobog (Peter Stormare) fading into irrelevance, the public are becoming increasingly blinded by the fame, fortune and A-list lives on offer by the New Gods, including Technical Boy (Bruce Langley) and Media (Gillian Anderson).
This tale is like no other, but has managed to capture the imagination of readers across the globe through Gaiman’s original novel. With the author now working closely alongside his fellow executive producers Bryan Fuller, Michael Green, Craig Cegielski, Stefanie Berk and Thom Beers on the series, we’re expecting big things when American Gods hits the small screen.
American Gods launches exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on May 1, 2017, with new episodes weekly. The series airs on Starz in the US.
