Amanda Mealing is reprising her role as Connie Beauchamp in 'Holby City' and 'Casualty'.
The 45-year-old last portrayed the cardiothoracic consultant character in December 2010 but she is now going to don her surgical robes again for new storylines in both BBC medical dramas.
Speaking on TV show 'This Morning' earlier today (25.07.13), Amanda - who is currently starring as Eleanor in 'Law & Order: UK' - revealed: "Since I left 'Holby...' I have literally had daily requests for Connie to come back and I had a call from the executive producer of 'Holby...' and 'Casualty' a while ago and he put forward this idea ... and I'm really nervous about it!
"They have some brilliant stuff coming up. I don't start filming yet ... but I'll be relocating to Cardiff."
Amanda was joined on the 'This Morning' sofa by fellow 'Law & Order: UK' actress Georgia Taylor - who plays the new girl, defence-barrister-turned-crown-prosecutor Kate Barker.
Georgia initially found fame playing Toyah Battersby in 'Coronation Street' but, unlike Amanda, she has no plans to return to her previous role.
When asked by hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford if she would return to the soap, she said: "There are no plans at the moment, I haven't been approached so it's not something I've had to think about.
"But I do get asked about it a lot, which is lovely because people love that show and it's nice that they remember the character. But I did leave 10 years ago, so for me it's almost like someone saying, 'Would you like to go back to school?' I had a lovely time ... and never say never!"
