Alison King is planning to join the circus after failing to land a new role since 'Coronation Street'.
The 43-year-old star has been out of work since leaving her part as Carla Connor on the soap in May this year, and with no other shows or movies on the horizon she has set her sights on a career change.
She said: "I've got no new acting projects in the pipeline. I may actually leave acting behind and join the circus."
Alison admitted she has set her sights on trying to break into a production similar to Cirque Du Soleil's Amaluna.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, she added: "I'll maybe have a go tonight and see how it pans out."
The 'Dream Team' star recently admitted 'Corrie' destroyed her feet because she always had to wear high heels on the cobbles.
She said: "My advice to myself if I was starting 'Corrie' again? Hit the ground running and wear flat shoes.
"Seriously, I'd wear flats, the high heels and cobbles have knackered my feet, I'd give the killer black heels a miss."
What's more, appearing on the soap for 10 years shattered her vocal cords.
She said: "I wouldn't put on a gravelly voice either, that's been tough, it's not my real voice."
Alison isn't the only former 'Corrie' star planning to try something new since departing Weatherfield.
In May, Ryan Thomas - who played Jason Grimshaw for 16 years - admitted he was planning to start acting lessons because he only knows how to play the builder-turned-businessman.
He said: "I want to be creative and maybe go back to drama school to learn again because I've only ever known how to be one character. So it's about a new challenge, whatever it might be."
