Alison King has got engaged.
The 'Coronation Street' actress has confirmed her significant other David Stuckey popped the question, and admits she had an idea he may be about to propose because he "kept putting something on [her] finger".
She said: "It was just a few days after our one-year anniversary. I had an inkling he was going to pop the question because he kept putting something on my finger and going 'Right, close your eyes and forget this ever happened.'
"We'd also discussed marriage, too. I think we both went from, 'No, we don't ever need to get married,' to, 'Oh, we really want to get married.' "
Alison had anticipated David's proposal by buying him a Rolex watch as a gift, and she presented him with the present after he got down on one knee.
She added to OK! magazine: "I said, 'Yes please,' and then I gave him the watch. It was perfect, even though it didn't go to plan."
The pair met in March 2018, and she previously dated 'Corrie' sound technician Adam Huckett.
And Alison tasted success at last week's TV Choice Awards, scooping the Best Soap Actress accolade for her role as Carla Connor on the ITV show.
The 46-year-old star's win comes after Alison had acted out her alter-ego suffering a breakdown after Carla blamed herself when her factory Underworld's roof collapsed, resulting in the death of Rana Habeeb (Bhavna Limbachia).
Carla experienced a severe psychotic episode, during which she thought she had spotted three dead characters, her late half-brother Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward), Hayley Cropper (Julie Hesmondhalgh) and Rana.
Alison said at the time: "She believes she is being watched and followed so in her head she needs to keep on the run, she ends up in the park asking a stranger for help.
"When she won't help her she then sees the most beautiful thing that will always help her and that is Hayley in her red coat so she follows her eventually back to Victoria Street and when she can't see her she is absolutely mortified.
"The thing that means the most to her and always helped her get back on the straight and narrow is Hayley and she has gone. Then she sees her walking up the fire escape and she follows here - she has a hallucination."
