The 'This Morning' presenter - who took part in 'Strictly Come Dancing' in 2014 - has signed up to front 'Clear The Dancefloor', which sees zany amateur dancers compete against one another, and producers couldn't be happier to have secured her services, particularly because she is usually viewed as "ITV talent".

A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “The BBC thinks it’s a real coup to have scooped Alison for their shiny new show.

"She’s in hot demand right now and is typically seen as ITV talent.

“Alison has loads of energy and the viewers at home absolutely love her.

“She’s refreshing and fun and isn’t afraid to laugh at herself. Excitement around the new series is really building.”

The news comes a month after it was reported Sky wanted the 47-year-old star to host a new panel show.

A source said at the time: "It remains to be seen if 'This Morning' bosses will give her a higher wage and a higher-profile role on the show to ensure she stays with them.

"If not, the Sky show is unlikely to be the last tempting offer she receives."

The opportunity has come Alison's way after she was previously hired by ITV to front a reboot of 'Wheel Of Fortune'.

However, the project was subsequently scrapped, and rival broadcasters are now seeking to tempt her away from ITV.

Alison and Dermot O'Leary became permanent Friday hosts on 'This Morning' in 2020, and the former 'Big Brother' contestant - who shot to fame when she appeared on the show in 2002 - previously admitted she was thrilled by how far she's come on ITV's flagship daytime show.

She reflected: "I never dreamt that when I first joined 'This Morning' - initially for a few months - that I would still be there 19 years later.

"I genuinely care about the show and the viewers who watch, so it’s a huge privilege and honour to be hosting a show I adore so much."
