The 'Britain's Got Talent' judge plays the role of Winnie, an antique tiger who has a passion for inflating balloons and lost her puff in the episode titled 'Winded Winnie', which will premiere on the Disney Junior channel early next year.

Alesha said of her new role: "'Doc McStuffins' is such a powerful role model for young girls that I jumped at the chance to voice a character. It's also one of my daughter's favourite shows!

"I love that the catchy songs and warm characters from the series are able to teach young children about the importance of self-care, good health and caring for others in such an adorable way. I had a lot of fun in the studio voicing the character and I can't wait for my little girl to see me on it next year!"

The 37-year-old star thinks it's "wonderful" her two-year-old daughter Azura will get to hear her mum voice a character from her "favourite" show.

She added: "Doc has become her new role model and her best friend, and we can't go anywhere without Doc, so when I got the call to do this it was a no brainer. I'm a big fan of the show, and, yeah, my little girl's going to get to hear my voice in her favourite show which is wonderful."

Alesha follows in the footsteps of the US President Barack Obama's wife Michelle Obama and 'Downton Abbey' stars Joanne Froggatt and Lesley Nicol, who have previously guest starred in the children's show.

Alesha Dixon's episode of 'Doc McStuffins' airs on Disney Junior in 2016.
