Alan Halsall says Andy Whyment will be a natural King of the Jungle.
The 'Coronation Street' actor's co-star and former flat mate is currently in Australia for 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!', and Alan - who plays Tyrone Dobbs on the cobbles - suggested his pal would be a worthy winner.
Heaping praise on Andy (Kirk Sutherland), he told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I think Andy's doing amazing, he is the exact same person that I see every day just a funny and genuine man...
"He hasn't been as hangry for food as I thought he may be either. I know he can win.
"Andy represents your everyday man, that people can relate to."
The two soap stars first became friends after meeting at a David Johnson theatre workshop in Oldham back in 1993, and they became closer when they worked together on a Dairylea cheese advert in South Africa.
Alan was one of the first people to find out his "brother from another mother" was heading into the jungle for the reality show.
He added: "Andy told me about I'm A Celebrity when he very first found out he was going in.
"My advice to anyone would be 'just be yourself' but I did not need to say this to Andy as he is always himself no matter who he is with.
"He will be missing his wife Nic and the kids the most, closely followed by puddings with custard."
Alan's comments come after Andy's wife Nichola said she hoped he would do well in the jungle after being a late entry to camp alongside Cliff Parisi, who has since been voted off.
She recently said: "I would like to think he could win it as he is down to earth, kind and funny a lot of people can relate to him."
