Alan Halsall's wife has given birth to a baby girl.
The 'Coronation Street' star and his partner Lucy-Jo Hudson welcomed their first daughter into the world yesterday (07.09.13) and he is "delighted" to become a father.
He tweeted: "Lucy-Jo & I are delighted to announce the arrival of our little girl born this morning. Mother & baby are home with a very proud Father ... Welcome #babyhalsall. (sic)"
The couple's child was born nine days late, and Alan - who plays mechanic Tyrone Dobbs on the soap - didn't drop any hints about her name.
Lucy-Jo recently revealed the 30-year-old actor burst into tears when he found out his wife was expecting a girl and she had expected him to cry again when she was born.
She previously said: "I screamed when we found out the baby was a girl, but Al cried.
"I'd only seen him cry once before - on our wedding day. Then he got teary again during the 4D scan he bought me for my 30th birthday.
"He'll definitely cry at the birth. It's like he's tapped into an emotion he didn't have before. He sits next to me and puts his head on my bump."
