Alan Carr is "too busy" for 'I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.'
The 46-year-old TV star is currently shooting new home renovation series 'The Italian Job' for the BBC with 'Britain's Got Talent' star Amanda Holden and admitted that although showbusiness is "feast or famine" there will come a time when he has to say yes to taking part in the ITV jungle survival show when he is not so "popular."
He is quoted by The Daily Star newspaper as saying: "It's famine or feast in this business. There will be a time when I'm in the jungle eating crocodile bits, thinking 'Do you remember 2022 when you were popular?' I'm super busy now."
Meanwhile, the former 'Chatty Man' host - who split from his husband Paul Drayton earlier this year after 13 years together is still persevering with his comedy gigs but admitted that the material is "very personal and very raw".
He said: "I wrote the tour, and then it just didn’t make sense when we came out of lockdown because the
marriage had broken down, so I was writing fresh on the go. It’s very personal and it’s very raw, but it’s going down really well. I need it [the tour]. And I get the impression that people just want a laugh and I do see it as therapy. I just get on with it, you know?"
"During COVID, the relationship fell apart, and I was divorced when we came out the other end. So it's probably my most personal [tour], but it sort of works and it's quite raw and I go to places that Akdon't normally talk about. It's like therapy really. Life's given me one of those years. Professionally, it has been amazing but personally, it's been a bit rubbish.
Alan's 'Regional Trinket' tour continues across the UK until December 2022.
